I thought this was a gay b&b
Well I went for a holiday weekend there and got a tiny room for an excessive price that did not look like anything in the website. Was also treated rudely by the owner Gary and also shared the hotel with a number of straight married couples. I was told it was a gay clientele. I would not stay there again.
Horrible Experience!
Upon making reservations, we told the owner that we would be in town a bit early. He said he could check us in around 1, but didn't arrive until 2:10 (check in was at 2). When we talked to the owner on the phone to make reservations we asked if it was a male or female bed and breakfast. We were told that women did stay at this bed and breakfast. After checking in we soon realized that we were the only women in the house, and we were not welcome at all. The owner was quite rude to us as well as the older male guests who all acted as if we were not welcome there. We spent most of our vacation trying to stay away from there, since we felt so uncomfortable. On the first morning there, we went downstairs for the skimpy continental breakfast (with cold coffee and orange juice that was loaded with chunky icy pulp) and on our way back up the stairs, we could hear all the men gossiping about us. Though the place was very clean, we were a little grossed out by the fact that the towels were blue... meaning they could not be bleached. Also, we were very disappointed in the pool. While it was also clean, the website made it look like a normal sized pool. It was not. It was about the size of 3 hot tubs put together, and it was not even at Cabana Gardens... it was located at the place next door. Again, we cannot emphasize enough how rude the owner, Gary, was. If you are female, do not stay here. If you are young, do not stay here. If you are elderly men, you might enjoy your stay.
