The CAMP Rehoboth Chorus will perform its annual winter concert twice, on Sunday, January 23, at the Rehoboth Theater of the Arts on Baltimore Avenue in Rehoboth. After last seasons sell-out show (during a snow storm!) the group has planned two shows on January 23, a matinee at 3 p.m. and evening performance at 7 p.m.
The show, under the artistic direction of Fay Jacobs, and musical direction of Bill McManus, will be a salute to the ma...rvelous music of the 1940s and World War II era, including nods to The Andrews Sisters, Glen Miller, Irving Berlin, and much more.
From the familiar to the patriotic, sentimental to inspirational, plus some campy fun thrown in, the concert will be a crowd-pleaser.
The CAMP Chorus is a four-part singing group open to anyone in the area who likes to sing. While it is sponsored by CAMP Rehoboth, the chorus boasts a wonderful diversity, with singers both gay and straight, young-at-heart and younger. Rehearsals are once a week at the CAMP Rehoboth Community Center.
Musical Director Bill McManus is a graduate of the Hartt College of Music of the University of Hartford. Fay Jacobs is a well-known Letters columnist and author. Accompanist David Zipse, a veteran performer around the state and in Atlantic City brings a huge following and musical talent to the chorus.
So save the date January 23 for a celebration of song from the CAMP Chorus. Youll laugh, be moved, and even get to sing along if you wish.
